Beautiful and historic Wells continues to be one of the finest family vacation spots anywhere, offering seven miles of coastline, the nationally recognized Wells Estuarine Research Reserve at Laudholm and the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Preserve. We sincerely welcome you to our community where you will find friendly folks and warm hospitality. We want to help make your visit in Wells both enjoyable and memorable.
Every Day is Beautiful in Green Valley
With a wide variety of events and opportunities, Green Valley has something to offer everyone. Celebrate the fun of the Minnesota State Fair with us each summer. Enjoy a scenic stroll through our many parks or play a round of golf at one of our three courses. Have your picture taken with the World’s Largest Owl and marvel at all the beautiful outdoor murals throughout the town.
Our community offers a thriving economy, superb schools, traditional values, faith and fellowship, helpful services, and many entertainment options. Green Valley is truly the ideal place for new ventures and new growth because every day is abeautiful day.
The Wells Chamber is always looking for images of Wells to be used for our various promotional materials. If you have a favorite picture of Wells, send it to us and if your photo is selected to appear on the cover of our annual Guide, you'll receive a $250 prize (plus bragging rights). The 2020 Contest winner is Christine Bricket.
Dining / Shopping / Lodging Openings
Wells and the state of Maine are in the process of the Governor's 4-Phase Reopening Plan after the shutdown due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. All businesses are strictly adhering to the safety precautions set in place to assure the safety of their staff and their customers. We respectfully request that everyone wear a face covering or mask and that you adhere to the "social distancing" rules.
Our beaches are open and available for all activities (sunbathing, walking, fishing, surfing, swimming, etc.) and the parking lots are open.
Our restaurants, many of which offered curb-side pickup during the pandemic are still offering curb-side service as well as inside and outside dining. Lodging is available to Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont residents only. Out-of-state visitors will be welcome as of June 26. You will be requested to sign a Certificate of Compliance indicating that you have received a negative COVID-19 test result, that you will quarantine in Maine for 14 days or that you have already completed your 14-day quarantine period in Maine.
