Snakes of Maine. Love them or loathe them, snakes strike a chord deep in the human psyche. In this free virtual presentation hosted by the Wells Reserve, wildlife biologist Derek Yorks will talk about the nine kinds found in Maine, from the small and secretive ring-necked snake to the large and easily observed northern water snake. Derek is the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s lead biologist on reptile issues. Register through wellsreserve.org/calendar.
